Practice 8/31/23
We started the season on a strong note. The team worked on lots of skating, turning, stopping, and puck handling. Angel and Jose talked about the things they learned and observed at the development camp over the summer. We recapped how to move with the puck in a few different ways, both with our fist and with the blade of the stick. We learned how to "turn on a dime" so we can change directions quickly. After practice we talked about everybody needing to be able to get on Slack this season for communication purposes and about all of our upcoming events. We decided as a team to forgo the tournament in Albuquerque and set our sights on the national tournament in Tampa instead due to time and budget constraints, along with us being more competitive in the national tournaments. We had lots of returning members and a new face too. We got Dan back after taking a bit of time off and Ezekiel did a great job for his first time out there on a sled. Hope to see everybody next practice!
