MEET THE TEAM
Meet Joshua. He was born with spina bifida and I'm in a wheelchair. He volunteers at the Aquarium of the Pacific. He also bowl in a league and play baseball. He likes to play sled hockey because it allows him to meet new people and make new bonds. On the ice he feel free because of the speed he can go.
Meet Paul. Paul struggles with a degenerative illness is hard. Sled hockey motivates him to get up every day and try to improve.
Meet Anthony, he is competitive, likes swimming, and playing video games (duh). He was born without legs which made finding a sport difficult. He found Sled Hockey through Brody Roybal, on TikTok. Being a Vice Corps Commander in the AFJROTC ( Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps) at the High School he graduated from taught him so much about leadership and how to work as a team. That is why he's excited to have found the LA Kings Sled Hockey Organization. It gives him the opportunity to work with an amazing team and possibly help someone else in a similar situation.
Meet Aaron, he's the goalie on the team, and
he was born with a genetic condition similar to Cerebral Palsy. He love to play video games outside of sled hockey. Aaron loves sled hockey because unlike other sports, it's a level playing field. He loves the feeling of catching the puck in his glove, and his team cheering because he saved a goal. He hopes to try out for the Paralympic team someday.
Meet Nicholas, he has spina bifida at L3 and hydrocephalus. He also a founder of this team. He started looking into adaptive sports around 2009 because he was tired of sitting at home watching television while a lot of his friends and family members got to do all of the fun activities. He enjoys playing sled hockey because it is super competitive. Nicolas also likes it because it keeps him active and healthy. Outside of sled hockey, he's a film student.
Meet Jorel, it is a sport that helps him in different aspects, the exercise, the coexistence with others, the moral support it gives players is a motivation for him. He appreciates the support that you give us to continue growing in the sport. Thank you so much.

Meet Angel. He started playing Sled Hockey when he was 5 years old. Since he started at a very young age, he was very uninterested when I first started playing Sled Hockey. He was inspired to get better by one of his teammates because of the way he played. His name is Pedro. He wasn’t able to play with him during a game, but he hope I get a chance to play with him soon. It’s an incredible feeling to play Sled Hockey because he get to play the sport he loves, and he can make friends. Angel likes the competitiveness of playing. He like to push my teammates to get better. He doesn't feel like he has a disability when he plays. He feel like any other person that plays the sport. He feels that he can play at competitive level. He was selected to go to the 2023 USA HOCKEY National Sled Hockey Development Camp in New Jersey. It was a great learning experience for him. he learned what he need to work on. The camp helped him improve on things he struggled in. He is now playing in college across the country, and we are very proud of him.
Meet Silverio, he was born with Spina Bifida, which affects him everyday. With Sled hockey he is able to forget about it for just a few moments at a time and involve himself to what it means to be apart of team and what it means to be a hockey player, making connections with other players and participants in the sport. Now that he's been in the team since 2012. he's had the privilege to participate in events that he could’ve only dreamed of when he wasn’t on the team. After many failed attempts at first, falling in his sled, he felt discouraged but he stuck with it and he eventually become a solid player.
Meet Manny, he was born with spina bifida at the L4-L5 level. He has lived a pretty active life up until beginning work to in 2010. He is finally at a point in his career and life where he can enjoy being involved in a team sport again. He is excited to be a part of the Kings Sled Hockey Team and is training hard to become an asset to the team. He looks forward to making new connections and memories on the ice with his teammates.
Meet Roger, he had a left above knee amputation due to Ewings sarcoma. He enjoys many activities including snow skiing, water skiing, pickleball and other outdoor activities. His favorite activity is sled hockey. Ever since joining it has provided a great opportunity to improve his well being.
Meet Ethan, he's got weakness in his legs caused by spasms but he love sports, physical activity, and fitness. He is having fun improving his game and playing with his team. He loves the opportunity he gets in sled hockey, to compete and use his strengths in a way that doesn't happen everyday. He has learned something new every practice about the game, himself, and the team. The community is amazing, everyone is there to have fun and build each other up. His coaches are awesome, they understand the team so well and make the experience fun while making the team better athletes. He have high expectations for myself and he's setting his sights on making the Paralympic team.
